This ADC IP core targets digital audio applications as well as multimedia applications.
Supported signal bandwidths are 12 and 20 kHz with a maximum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 93dB (15bits of accuracy). Its low power consumption makes it idea for low power applications. The SDM consumes 900µA for 20 kHz of bandwidth and 600 µA for 12 kHz and withstands a maximum input signal of 2.5Vpp.
The core uses a robust continuous time sigma delta topology without a tuner to offered low power dissipation along process corners.
A 3rd order and a sampling frequency Fs=5MHz is chosen as a good compromise between loop stability, signal-to-quantization-noise ratio (SQNR), area, and power consumption.
